as JOHN BONHAM
Born on the 26th day of November in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
The urge to ramble caused him to ignore several scholarships (2 music and 1 math) and take to the road where he would revel in the “almost famous” life. The road is where he lived from age 19 until he was 31, when he stopped to raise a daughter as a single parent.
He was discovered by Swan Song when he opened for them with his own band. Terry filled in on drums as a sub for many gigs for nearly 2 years before becoming the band’s full-time drummer in 2014.
Best thing about Swan Song: “Being the John Bonham of the band - it’s one of the only bands where a drummer can really explore and swing. Words really can’t describe how much I love doing this. I played double bass for years and can do a lot with my feet, but I enjoy the challenge of making it all happen with one foot, 'cause that’s the way JHB did it. And I really enjoy the guys I'm doing it with. I couldn't ask for better mates.”
Top 5 Zeppelin songs: Ten Years Gone, In My Time Of Dying, The Song Remains The Same/The Rain Song (live version), In The Light, Kashmir.
Favorite album: Physical Graffiti. “One of the things I love about Zeppelin is how the whole band jams, not just the guitarist. Every member is so strong and holds their own special place in that very powerful musical landscape.”
Terry plays: Ludwig amber Vistalite kit and all Paiste 2002 cymbals including 15” sound-edge hi-hats and a 38” Paiste symphonic gong (identical to the kit from the iconic The Song Remains The Same film), 28” and 32” Ludwig Tympani, DW 9000 Hi-hat hardware, DW Machined Direct Drive single base pedal, Crown power and ButtKicker mounted on a PorkPie throne, and Vic Firth 2B American Standard sticks.
